Polka Dot Shorts 5 Warmhearted and funny, Polka Dot Shorts enthralls young children. Children enter the wondrous, polka-dot filled Land of Roo, where Polkaroo and pals share gentle adventures. Viewers even get to meet Polkaroo’s own pet, a unique creature named Bibble! Programs’ captivating ingredients include lots of visual interest; engaging stories, music and, humor; and themes relevant to children.

The Great White Bibble BPN 680901 Bear dreams that he is Captain Ahab Bear, searching with his crew Polkaroo (“Call me Polkaroo”) and Dumpty for the legendary Great White Bibble. (Rhyming story) (8:00) Home Sweet Home BPN 680902 Bear and Marigold compete in a contest for “The Most Beautiful Home.” Each of them stores unwanted household items at Polkaroo’s until after the judging, only to find out that Polkaroo wins first prize. (Rhyming Story) (8:00) The Cutter in the Cake BPN 680903 Polkaroo feels that he can’t do anything right — he can’t even get a cake cutter out of a cake he overbaked! He dreams that he has returned to the time of Camelot, where whoever can remove a giant cutter from a giant cake will be King. With help from Merlina (Marigold) and Sir Dumpty, Polkaroo triumphs over his self-doubt. (8:00) The Phantom of the Nursery Rhyme BPN 680904 Humpty has brought Bear one of his family heirlooms — a strange urn that glows. When Bear opens it, a mysterious light shoots out. Whoever it hits starts reciting a nursery rhyme. No one can resist it, until Polkaroo finds the solution in the Big Book of Phantoms. (8:00) Polkaroo of the Jungle BPN 680905 When Humpty and Dumpty hear that Polkaroo is going on a hike in the woods, they think it will be like the jungle. They imagine meeting a big snake, hearing lots of wild animals, and being trapped in a Bibble stampede. Luckily, Polkaroo of the Jungle is there to save them! (Rhyming story) (8:00) Aloha BPN 680906 Polkaroo, Humpty and Marigold are each trying to win a trip to Hawaii. All they each have to do is eat ten boxes of Licky Sticky Icky Bikkies. Unfortunately, they spend all their trip money to buy the cereal, and then discover that they can’t eat it all. They decide to make a pretend “beach” at Polkaroo’s — and watch in amazement as Bibble leaves for Hawaii, having eaten all the cereal they left. (8:00) Unbearable BPN 680907 When Polkaroo and Marigold say they’re going to the zoo to see “wild bears,” Bear decides he has to return to his roots. He dresses up as a polar bear, a panda bear, and a grizzly bear, before realizing that his friends like him for who he really is. (8:00) The Golden Pear BPN 680908 Humpty shows Polkaroo and Dumpty a rare Golden Pear, and says he is saving it for the King of Spain or his daughter, since there is a poem about them eating a golden pear. Dumpty and Polkaroo disguise themselves as the King and the Princess, but while they’re trying to pass Humpty’s tests of royalty, Bibble eats the pear! (8:00) Sleeping Beauty BPN 680909 While waiting to go to the ballet with Polkaroo and Marigold, Humpty dreams that Prince Polkaroo and he are vying for the hand of Princess Aurora (Marigold). Polkaroo, fearing he’s losing, tries a magic potion that makes its victim become enamored of whomever is seen first after taking it. But his plans go awry, Prince Humpty takes the potion, and it’s Polkaroo he sees first! (8:00) Show Me the Honey BPN 680910 Bear feels that he’s spending too much time with his video games. He promises Polkaroo and Marigold that he’ll join their team for a baseball tournament, but he returns to the video game and fails to show, causing them to forfeit their game. He learns that his friends are more important than his video game. (8:00) The Visit BPN 680911 Humpty, Dumpty, and Polkaroo make elaborate preparations for a teatime visit from the King and Queen. Unfortunately, their Majesties fill up on honeycakes at Bear’s, and leave Polkaroo with 65 anchovy and pickle sandwiches to get rid of! (8:00) Humptanic BPN 680912 Humpty decides he’ll be the first to go around the world in a hot air balloon. Bear and Polkaroo help him build the Humptanic, using party balloons. But confusion occurs during attempts to take off, leaving Humpty, Bear, and Polkaroo on the ground, and allowing Bibble to enter the Big Book of Firsts for ballooning around the world. (8:00) King Dumpty BPN 680913 Marigold and Polkaroo decide to make Dumpty “King for a Day,” to thank him for being such a helpful friend. Dumpty gets carried away with his new position of power, and ends up learning that friendship is more important than kingship. (8:00) Kla-Two BPN 680914 Bear is visited by an alien (Kla-Two) who looks a lot like Dumpty in a strange outfit. When it turns out that Polkaroo’s blueberry and orange cookies are the “power pellets” needed by this alien to return to his home galaxy, Bear’s and Polkaroo’s suspicions are confirmed — until they see Dumpty and realize that Kla-Two really was from outer space. (8:00) Picture Perfect BPN 680915 Bear realizes he doesn’t have any pictures of Bibble. But, try as he and Humpty might, they are unable to get Bibble to stay still long enough for a picture. They’re surprised when Polkaroo brings a gift — a picture of Bibble, who was happy to stay still for a portrait when he knew it was for Bear. (8:00) Knock Knock BPN 680916 Bear becomes enamored of the rhythmic tapping of the very rare and very shy Knocking Bird in the forest around his home. His disappointment at the departure of the Knocking Bird turns to joy: Polkaroo and Dumpty give him a gift — a door knocker in the shape of a Knocking Bird. (8:00) Jack and the Beanstalk BPN 680917 Dumpty doesn’t believe Marigold when she tells him that the beanstalks in her garden won’t grow through the clouds, as did the magic beanstalk in “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Dumpty later dreams that he is Jack, stealing ill-gotten gold from the giant (Polkaroo) and his wife (Marigold), with the help of the giant’s pet (Bibble). (8:00) The Cereal Bowl BPN 680918 Polkaroo can’t find his lucky yellow cereal bowl, which he needs to eat from before he plays with Humpty and Marigold in their big game of tennis. He eventually finds the bowl — Marigold used it to make their tennis trophy. (8:00) Starship Bear BPN 680919 Bear is ready for a snack. When he finds out that Polkaroo is making cookies for Marigold’s tea party — a party to which he hasn’t yet been invited — he devises a plan. He decides to masquerade as Major Ursa, a member of Captain Zargon’s Space Fleet (the favorite TV show of all the Polka Dot Shorts’ characters), in a futile attempt to get Polkaroo to give him the cookies. (8:00)
